Hello! Meet Rebecca!

Rebecca Garetz, MA, LPC

(She/Her)

I am originally from California. I received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology from UC Davis . I then moved to Portland and graduated from Lewis and Clark College with a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am a Certified Yoga Teacher and Therapist. I have training in Exposure and Response Prevention.

I am LGBTQ+ affirming, sex positive, and believes in Health At Every Size!

Healing begins when we learn to turn toward what scares us—with courage, compassion, and curiosity. I specialize in helping adults and young adults navigate anxiety, OCD, and grief through a holistic lens that honors both mind and body. My approach integrates evidence-based modalities like Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while also attending to the nervous system and somatic awareness.

I believe anxiety isn’t the enemy—it’s a messenger. Together, we’ll learn to befriend it, understand its signals, and build a more flexible, values-driven life. Therapy with me is active, relational, and grounded in the belief that courage isn’t the absence of fear—it’s the willingness to move forward with fear beside us.

Whether you're feeling stuck in compulsions, overwhelmed by intrusive thoughts, or simply longing for more peace and clarity within yourself and your relationships, I offer a space that’s structured, warm, and deeply respectful of your lived experience.

When I am not seeing clients, I love to take care of my plants, go on walks, get into a creative art project, get bored and try a different one, go camping, and spend time with family and friends.
